SMC order blocks: entry precision on volatility indices
BOS confirmation, OB validation & position sizing under V75
An order block is the last candle before a significant move. On V75 (Volatility 75 Index), which moves 24/7 with no gaps, order blocks are cleaner than on forex or equity markets — there's no overnight noise to pollute the structure. A bullish OB is the last bearish candle before a strong upward move that creates a Break of Structure (BOS). A bearish OB is the last bullish candle before a strong downward move. The key validation: the OB must have caused a BOS on the same timeframe.
Key Points
- ▸OB = last opposing candle before a BOS
- ▸V75 has no gaps — cleaner structure than forex
- ▸Validate on the same timeframe as your entry
- ▸If the OB has been retested and held once, it's stronger
